Why are we mercenaries?

A Mercenary is a soldier. For us, this means a fighter, a badass, someone strong who fights for the cause of their choosing. Every day that our athletes enter CrossFit Mercenary, they are fighting for whatever drives them; to be stronger, fitter, healthier.
We are all Mercenaries.



Sarah Cody


Sarah is a CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, CrossFit Weightlifting Level 1, CrossFit Gymnastics, Kettlebell RX Level 1, USAW Level 1 Coach, an A.C.E certified personal trainer, and has over 15 years of experience in the fitness industry. She began her fitness career as a group fitness instructor in 2004. In 2013, she was introduced to CrossFit and has never looked back. In March of 2017, she became the full-time operations manager and head coach at CrossFit Mercenary. Sarah competes at several local competitions a year.


Jesse Cody


Jesse is a retired Army Aviation officer. He is a CrossFit Level 1 trainer and a USA Weightlifting level one coach; he has certifications in CrossFit Gymnastics and CrossFit Lesson Planning. Jesse started his CrossFit journey in 2014 and is now the head programmer and coach at CrossFit Mercenary. Jesse has competed and placed in many local competitions.


Andre Clarke


Andre is a CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, CrossFit Kids Coach, and a USA Weightlifting Level 1 Coach. He has been a fan and advocate of CrossFit ever since his 1st WOD. He continues to exhibit his love for the sport by showing his enthusiasm in the box, competing locally, and coaching those who request his assistance. Andre has been a huge baseball fan since the 8 years old while living in Atlanta GA. And yes, he is a diehard Braves fan! he was a South Western Athletic (SWAC) closing pitcher for Texas Southern University Tigers in Houston, Texas. His short-term goal is to one day be ranked in the Top 50 as a Regional Masters Athlete.

Range of Motion


We have the best Equipment, Coaches, and Training Programs. Being an expert coach is about improving fitness and safeguarding the health of one’s clients. Keeping our clients safe includes all the considerations raised in the Developing Virtuously in Coach article; i.e., knowing the movement points of performance and being able to identify and correct violations.

However, client safety also includes multiple logistical factors, such as programming, specific needs for special populations, equipment layout, and accurate representation of one’s credentials.
